Computer Class 6– Greeting Card Workshop

There are a variety of Greeting Card software packages (ex: Microsoft Greeting Card Workshop, Hallmark Greeting Card, Print Shop from Broderbund, Etc.)

 

Most packages include: 

Compact Disk (CD) with programs and files Users Manual, reference booklet with copies of clip art on CD

 

After you buy the program, you install it on your computer.  Most programs have "autorun" on the CD.  Usually you have a few choices in installation which are self explanatory.  Some packages have tutorial.  Most require that the CD be in your CD Drive to operate. 

 

Using Print Shop for this class.  After program is installed you open the program. 

There are a variety of project types: 

  • Greeting Card 

  • Business Card

  • Letterhead

  • Envelopes

  • Labels

  • Signs

  • Banners

  • Certificates

  • Post Cards

  • Caldendars

  • Etc.

Some have mail merge capability. 

 

In class will do Holiday Card 

  1. Select Sample 

  2. Modify Sample

Borders and Background:
Add Clip Art (from package or other source) 

Change background - Watermarks

Add and modify TEXT - using fonts and colors 

Add Pictures - From file or scanner (be sure picture format is acceptable to program) 

  1. Print Sample, modify as needed

  2. Print final
